Dear colleagues and friends,

The 41st Annual Meeting of the European Bone and Joint Infection Society will take place in Basel, Switzerland on 12-14 October 2023.

Swiss but different – This is Basel:
Basel is a place of exciting contrasts. A city with historical buildings next to modern architecture like Messe Basel build by Herzog & de Meuron. Where a young and dynamic art scene exists alongside world-renowned museums. Cosmopolitan ambience here, lively traditions there. A vibrating place for science, especially in pharma and biomedical engineering.

Between October 12th-14th 2023 we hope to be able to organise a diversified program attractive for clinicians and researchers, striving topics like infected pseudarthrosis, ortho-plastic treatment concepts and genomics/proteomics. In addition to the normal meeting with a mix of keynotes and free papers we are planning a seminar in combination with the AO foundation. The aim of this seminar is to discuss cases with an international multidisciplinary ortho-plastic faculty in small groups combined with keynote lectures. This seminar will be a platform for younger colleagues to bring and discuss their own cases in familiar surroundings.

The conference will bring together experts, practitioners and companies involved in the treatment of bone and joint infections. Professionals attending the conference will benefit from high-level scientific presentations, knowledge sharing and networking opportunities.

Welcome to Basel!

On behalf of the Local Organising Committee,

Martin Clauss, Local Chair & EBJIS Treasurer
